Since Paleo is not a diet but a lifestyle, any book that can give us some useful ideas on how we can improve it is worth reading, and this one certainly is.
Even though not everything he writes about is in keeping with my beliefs, I still found this very interesting and picked up many good ideas.
The book is divided into three sections. In the first he covers the four horsemen of aging - free radicals, inflammation, glycation and stress. What I like about this book is that it isn't overly technical. He explains his concepts in easy to understand language and doesn't just talk about the problems but offers concrete solutions.
In the second section Jonny starts talking specifics. He starts with the seven pillars of longevity, then moves on to how to keep your heart and brain in shape and how to protect and maintain strong bones, muscles and joints. All good stuff. He finishes this section with chapters on the Immune system and hormones.
In the third and final section he outlines his plan for healthy aging and gives you a substantial list of resources and end notes for further reading should you be so inclined.
This is exactly my kind of book - interesting, easy to understand, and gets right to the point. It also has a lot of great illustrations which doesn't hurt. You might not agree with everything he says or want to incorporate all his recommendations into your lifestyle, but they are certainly worth reading about and at least considering.
