Many people sit in their tiny apartments looking at gardening pictures and dreaming about "one day" when they own a house and a plot of land. Then they will be able to have a garden they think. But now .... well it's just impossible.
Just because you are living in an apartment with a small balcony doesn't mean you can't be a gardener. There are many examples of beautiful gardens that people have created on the tiniest of balconies, and today I want to show you just a few to get you thinking about the possibilities.
To start with here is a very creative garden created out of an old pallet featured at www.apartmenttherapy.com There you will find many other terrific ideas for making use of your small space, including the shoe holder bag garden I showed you a while back
And even how to make a tiny water garden
Here is another fabulous idea.
This vertical garden was created by running a pole through the water holes in the bottom of the pots. Simple and so effective!
Here this creative gardener has created a trellis to grow vines and create privacy.
And here small salad gardens were built. (To build your own follow the directions given in my post here.)
Just by using simple pots and window boxes you can grow a lot of things. And special hooks are available at most garden centres so you can attach your window boxes to your balcony.
Regardless of how small a space you have ...
Todays inspiration garden is just that. With just a few window boxes, a few plants, and some bamboo curtains for privacy, this wonderful little retreat was created on this tiny balcony. The perfect place to enjoy that Sunday cup of coffee.
"Almost any garden, if you see it at just the right moment, can be confused with paradise."
