Creamy Cheesy Halibut

Here is another simple but tasty way to serve halibut.  This is my version of the recipe that was submitted on by chellebelle.  She says "The rich, cheesey topping goes well with mild flavoured halibut."

Ingredients :

-  2 pounds skinless halibut fillets
-  1 cup grated Parmesan cheese or grated Cheddar cheese
-  1/4 cup softened butter
-  1/4 cup mayonnaise
-  1/4 cup of fresh lemon juice
-  2 tablespoons of chopped green onions or chopped parsley (optional)
-  dash of hot pepper sauce
-  sea salt and ground pepper to taste

Directions :

  • Preheat the oven broiler and grease a baking dish.
  • In a bowl, mix together all ingredients other than the halibut.
  • Arrange the halibut fillets in the prepared baking dish.
  • Broil halibut fillets for about 8 minutes, or until they easily flake with a fork.
  • Spread the cheese mixture evenly over the fillets and continue broiling for about 2 minutes more, or until the topping is bubbly and lightly browned.
