A lot of us enjoy indulging in a meal of chicken wings once in a while, but because of the flour and sugar used in the coatings in most of the wings you can buy, trying to find "healthy" chicken wings can be very difficult. However making your own at home is incredibly easy, so you really don't have to go without. Here are a few recipes to try.
Mild, Medium and Hot Wings
Ingredients :
- 2 1/2 lbs. of chicken wings
- 1/4 cup of butter
- hot sauce to taste
Directions :
- Preheat your oven to 350'F
- Melt the butter, then add hot sauce to taste.
- Dry your wings on paper towels, then put them into a plastic Ziplock bag. Pour in the butter sauce and mix so all the wings are well coated.
- Tip the coated wings onto a parchment covered baking sheet, (This makes for easier cleanup) and bake for 50 to 60 minutes, turning halfway through the cooking time.
- If you want even hotter wings, sprinkle with more hot sauce before serving.
Honey Garlic Wings
Ingredients :
- 2 1/2 lbs. of chicken wings
- 1/4 cup of butter
- 1/4 cup gluten free Teriaki sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon powdered ginger
- 1 teaspoon of chopped garlic in oil
- 3 tablespoons of honey
Directions :
- Preheat your oven to 350'F
- Melt the butter, then add the garlic and the honey and mix until the honey is melted.
- Dry your wings on paper towels, then put them into a plastic Ziploc bag. Pour in the sauce and mix so all the wings are well coated.
- Tip the coated wings onto a parchment covered baking sheet, and bake for 50 to 60 minutes, turning halfway through the cooking time.
Dry Rub Wings
Ingredients :
- 2 1/2 lbs. of chicken wings
- 1 recipe of your favourite rub. (All of these other than the seafood one will work.)
Directions :
- Preheat your oven to 350'F
- Dry your wings on paper towels, then put them into a plastic Ziploc bag.
- Pour in the dry rub and mix so all the wings are well coated.
- Tip the coated wings onto a parchment covered baking sheet, and bake for 50 to 60 minutes, turning halfway through the cooking time.
