Barbecue Meals Cook Ahead Plan

You want to know the easiest cook ahead plan of all?  Barbecue Meals.

Just think about it.  You never have to cook in your kitchen at all!  All your meals are prepared on the barbecue, and if there is someone in your household who loves to barbecue you could feasibly delegate the whole thing and just make sure you have salads and vegetables for sides.  Could it be any easier?

You can do this all in one week, or you can just add one or two barbecue meals to your menu plan each week and just make sure the person barbecuing cooks double the amount you need.  Then all you have to do is package and freeze.

Again, just go to the RECIPES tab above, scroll down to "Dinners - Barbecue, Pan-fry or Stir-fry" and choose some recipes.

Here is a sampling of meals that you could make.

Monday - Grilled Halibut

Tuesday - Barbecue Chicken

Wednesday - Beef Burgers in Lettuce Wraps

Thursday - Barbecue Shrimps and Scallops

Friday - eat out

Saturday - Barbecue Pizza

Sunday -  Grilled Pork Tenderloin with Plums and Blue Cheese

This is a great way for you to fill your freezer, especially during the hot summer months when the last thing anyone wants to do is to spend time in a hot kitchen.

It's also a great way to plan meals in general.  I hate to be sexist here, but it is true that most men who will balk at cooking dinner, consider barbecuing a totally different thing. They will happily spend time over a hot grill, and, especially if you're a busy working mother, delegating in this way a few times a week could buy you some well deserved "me time."

Set the kids up doing their homework, set the table with salads and dressings, pour yourself a glass of wine, and indulge yourself in a nice long soak. How's that for a great cook ahead plan strategy!

In the last 6 posts I've covered cooking ahead very thoroughly.  I've walked you step by step through making your own cook ahead plan, and I've given you 3 options for filling your freezer without even making one.  I hope that now you can see there really is no reason why you too can't eat out of your freezer and cut down the number of days you have to cook.

When you give it just a little thought, answering the question "What's for dinner?" can be quick, simple and easy.
