When you need to lose weight it's easy to loose your self confidence when it comes to your looks. Because you are really aware of the extra weight that you are carrying, you assume everyone else is as well. But this does not need to be the case. You can wear beautiful clothes - even bathing suits - as long as you choose flattering ones.
Here are 10 things to keep in mind when choosing your wardrobe and putting together your outfits. Just a few tweaks here and there can make a big difference in how you look and feel.
( 2 ) Don't think you have to wear dark colours to look thin. Wearing black all the time doesn't make you look elegant - It makes you look dreary. Choose warm or cool colours that flatter your colouring.
( 3 ) Don't wear tiny prints. They will just make you look big in contrast. You can wear prints, but low contrast medium sized prints will look better on you.
( 4 ) When wearing a coat or jacket, for a really sharp look, wear it open over a top and skirt or slacks that are the same colour. This will make you look taller and thinner.
( 5 ) Wear stockings in the same colour as your dress or skirt. This will elongate your look and make your legs look great.
( 6 ) To really stand out and make people notice your face, wear clothes that pick up the colour of your eyes and hair. Blondes look great in beige. Those with brown eyes should wear brown and those with blue eyes will look terrific in blue.
( 7 ) Wear your necklaces on the long side to draw the eye down, and when you wear earrings make them sizable. Don't wear tiny jewelry that's lost on your body.
( 8 ) Avoid wearing dots and wild prints. These are hard enough for thin people to pull off - if you don't have a perfect figure it's almost impossible. You can wear fun prints, but tone them down.
( 9 ) When wearing pants, a skirt, or a dress, choose those that fit smoothly over the waist and hip area. Don't wear pleats or bunching at the waist. And don't wear baggy clothes. Even though you might not think so, fitted and flowing fashions will be a lot more flattering.
( 10 ) Choose straight leg pants over super skinny versions. These will balance out your hips and make you look slimmer.
If you follow these few simple rules, there is no reason why you can't enjoy dressing just as much now as you will when you finally reach that perfect size.
