It's been just over three months since I started my indoor kitchen garden and I'm still totally thrilled with it.
Soon after my lettuce really started to grow I used it to make a salad for a dinner party and nobody could believe how delicious it was. The taste was 200% better than anything you can buy in a store.
My herbs and salad greens continue to grow at a huge rate. I have so much basil I haven't been able to keep up with it. I now have bags of it in my freezer as well as lots of home-made pesto - which is not a bad problem to have.
In fact I've had to take one of my lettuce plants out of the grower because it was taking over. I put it into a glass to see if it would continue growing, and it has, so I'm still picking lots of salad leaves.
The basil plant has gotten so big I didn't think the lettuce next to it would survive but as you can see it's a bit spindly because it has to reach for the light, but it's still doing very well.
But the plants I'm really thrilled with are my tomato and jalapeño pepper plants. As you can see they have tons of fruit and the tomatoes are now turning red. It's amazing to me that I can grow these inside with absolutely no natural light.
